How far in advance should I book a holiday with luxury lodge stays in New Zealand? 

We recommend booking your holiday 9 – 15 months in advance. Many of New Zealand’s top luxury lodges are highly popular and book out far in advance, so if you have a specific lodge you would like to stay at, the sooner you book the better. This is especially true over the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

When we quote your personalised luxury holiday package, we do ensure there is availability at all lodges included in your itinerary. So even if you have left your plans for the last minute, we will ensure you enjoy a thoroughly indulgent luxury escape to New Zealand.

Is a two-week itinerary enough to experience the highlights of a luxury New Zealand trip?

Two weeks is plenty of time for a luxury New Zealand holiday. Travelling over 14 days, you can relax and explore many locations across both islands at a leisurely pace, encountering many of the country’s exclusive highlights.

If you have less than two weeks, you can still enjoy a rewarding luxury holiday. Either choose one island to focus on or use domestic flights to link the two islands.

If you are travelling around Christmas and the New Year, you will need to make reservations 12+ months in advance, and expect crowds in public spaces.

Is a self-drive itinerary suitable for a luxury holiday, or is a private chauffeur recommended?

We think travelling with a private chauffeur is the most relaxed and personalised way to see New Zealand. However, much of this is down to personal preference. Please ask us for a quote – you might be surprised at how little the addition of a private chauffeur affects the cost of your luxury tour.
