New Zealand luxury lodges offer a refined, intimate take on all inclusive resorts. Set in private locations, sometimes surrounded by wilderness and sometimes within easy reach of a top destination, luxury lodges provide stunning views and refined hospitality.
Many lodges include chef-led meals, with multi-course degustation dinners and full breakfasts. A focus on fresh, local ingredients and New Zealand wines brings the cuisine to the next level.
You will find luxury lodges throughout the country, with settings as varied as the landscapes of New Zealand. Discover secluded beaches, towering peaks, otherworldly volcanoes, crystalline lakes, and lush native bush from the privacy of your lodge.
These are five of the most renowned all inclusive luxury lodges in New Zealand:

Set amidst expansive grounds beside the Waikato River, Huka Lodge creates an atmosphere of grandeur and privacy. This is one of New Zealand’s most famous luxury lodges.

Not far from downtown Queenstown, Rosewood Matakauri commands a superb isolated location beside the shores of Lake Wakatipu. Savour the outstanding mountain views through sweeping windows.

Named the best resort in Australia and New Zealand, Rosewood Kauri Cliffs is both a premier golf destination and a perfect base for exploring the Bay of Islands.

Nestled beside Lake Tarawera, Solitaire Lodge creates an idyllic haven for guests not far from the popular destination of Rotorua.

Blanket Bay Lodge offers superb comfort and attentive service in remote wilderness surrounds. Set in the township of Glenorchy, 45 minutes from Queenstown, the lodge enjoys some of the finest views in New Zealand.

With towering, largely impassable mountains dominating so much of the South Island, helicopters are a staple of New Zealand luxury travel. After all, the most astonishing views of the landscape are from the air.
What is more, you can combine helicopter transport with an exciting range of activities for the experience of a lifetime. You’ll find heli-hiking, heli-wine tours, heli-picnics, heli-biking, heli-skiing, heli-golf, heli-hunting, heli-fishing, and more on offer.
Beyond helicopter tours, you will find an enticing range of luxury experiences in New Zealand. These are our top five recommendations:
Our luxury vacation packages include a premium rental car with full insurance. This allows you to travel at your own pace and explore any detours that catch your interest.
If you have a preference for a specific model of car, we will do our best to match what you are hoping for. If you are travelling on the South Island in winter, we include snow chains with your vehicle rental.
Private chauffeur/guide
Through our New Zealand Guided Tours brand, we work with a set of highly qualified guides that are among the best in New Zealand. A private guide comes with a luxury tour vehicle (suited for groups of all sizes) including all fuel.
Travelling with a private chauffeur is not just a convenient way to see New Zealand. Your guide will enhance your experience with stories, commentary, and recommendations that will help uncover the locals’ side of the country.
Air transfers
Depending on where you are travelling, domestic flight or helicopter transfers offer swift connections between far-flung regions of the country. This upgrade is perfect if you plan to focus on a few key all-inclusive resort destinations and will spend several nights at each.
For example, you can hop from Kauri Cliffs in the Bay of Islands, to Huka Lodge near Taupo, down to Rosewood Matakauri in Queenstown.

When you stay at an all inclusive luxury lodge, a highlight of the experience is the gourmet chef’s meals offered to guests, from country breakfasts to multi-course degustation dinners. Some activities also include a meal.
Most of our all inclusive vacation packages include:
In general, we include those meals provided by your accommodation, leaving other meals for you to arrange yourselves. We find this allows for the perfect flexibility to plan day excursions or travel between destinations at your leisure, without set lunch arrangements that hold you to a specific schedule.
When travelling to New Zealand from the United States, you will usually fly out of Los Angeles, Houston, San Francisco, or Honolulu.
Flights to New Zealand most commonly arrive into Auckland. However, during New Zealand’s summer months (December – March), United Airlines also offers direct flights from San Francisco to Christchurch three days a week.
You can search flights on Expedia, Booking.com, or Kayak, or else book directly with:
On the Air New Zealand website, you can choose “multi-city” when searching to display options for each leg of the flight individually. This allows you to choose the optimal layovers in each location so you don’t risk missing any connections.
Our all inclusive New Zealand vacation packages include:
– Luxury lodge or 5-star hotel accommodation
– Premium rental car
– Exclusive experiences
– A selection of gourmet meals
We do not include airfares or travel insurance. However, we are happy to book domestic flights on your behalf.
Yes! Most accommodations and tours around New Zealand are open year-round.
Up in the Bay of Islands, winters are mild and sunny. Meanwhile, the South Island rarely gets snow except in the high mountains. We may need to make slight modifications to our packages based on seasonal variations, but you can enjoy almost everything New Zealand has to offer year-round.
You’ll find the best weather in New Zealand between October and March. If you want to avoid the crowds, October, November, and March are good choices.
Travelling around Christmas and the New Year (from 20 December – 6 January) can be difficult due to check-in/check-out restrictions and lengthy minimum night stays. However, if you book at least 9 – 12 months in advance, there’s no reason to avoid traveling over the Christmas holidays.
Some of the most popular New Zealand activities include:
– Milford Sound cruises
– Wine tours in Central Otago, Waiheke Island, and Hawkes Bay
– Helicopter flights
– Stargazing in the Mackenzie Dark Sky Reserve
– Visiting hot springs around Rotorua
– Sailing in the Bay of Islands
